We have waited months to bring an art station to our favorite resting place, a beach boardwalk!
With the hope of putting the pandemic behind us, we set out to offer a warm and welcoming place to relax and get creative at Rockaway Beach. Sanitizer and Lysol wipes were still on deck of course!
An aunt spent the day teaching her niece how to ride a bike. Jamie, 7, said she fell a bunch of times but got right back up. After the hot, busy day they were delighted to sit with us and create paintings filled with color, glitter and imagination!
A 12-year-old girl and 10-year-boy painted beautiful sunsets as we watched the sky fade into night together.
The best part was seeing a smile on a stranger’s face and knowing we had a part in that.
In the end, strangers become friends.
And art becomes love.
